About Olamina
Olamina Botanicals is a bioregional apothecary crafting tinctures, tonics, syrups and salves in Munsee Lenape territory, Brooklyn, New York. Their mission is to help people ground into their own innate power as healers, draw strength from the plant world—and act on behalf of the planet.
Offering handmade herbal formulas crafted with local, foraged and organic materials, they are guided by principles of ecological restoration. Their blends are curated with what is abundant and in season.
Olamina Botanicals founder Jess Turner is a Black clinical and community herbalist whose practice is centered on helping frontline communities repair through connection to the land and plants growing around them. In cities, these plants are often discarded as mere weeds.
With more than eight growing seasons under her belt, Jess cultivates many of the herbs found in Olamina’s formulas, carefully sourcing additional botanicals from the medicinal herb farmers with whom she is in community.
Honored to have arrived at a place where she can be of service, Jess draws strength from the ongoing resilience of her people.
