When with our mouths we taste the bitter flavor, our bodies begin a series of processes that help stimulate digestion and bring digestive ease. “Digestif” is a term used to describe a class of bitter infusions, often containing alcohol, traditionally sipped at the end of a meal to support digestion (think vermouth, amaro and fernet). We made our Wild Bitters in the spirit of these remedies.
Water, foraged Yellow Dock root, foraged Black Walnut hulls, local Ginger*, evaporated cane sugar* and high proof spirits.
Shake well. Enjoy one tablespoon with sparkling or flat water.
